Exciting news! Rubys brand new
album So Amazing is pressed up and ready to go. You can pre order
it via the website. It will be available in the shops from 12th September.
The new Album had it first airplay on TV on August 1st in
the BBC drama Silent Witness. The track Aint cried in a long
time was played in its entirety. An extract is available on the website.
On the track Ruby duets with the talented Clive Rowe, who acted opposite her in
the acclaimed West End Show "Simply Heavenly". (Some of the younger
fans may have seen him in the Tracy Beaker TV series too).
When Ruby performed at the Jazz Café in London a
couple of months ago we were very lucky to be treated to Ruby and Clive singing
the duet together live on stage. A very special moment! That Jazz Café
gig was professionally filmed and there is a possibility that this may be
released as a DVD in the future.
During the summer months, Ruby has been performing with
Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra throughout the country to rave
reviews. Here is just one example :
| "And just when you
thought things couldnt get any better, the machine that is The Big Band
shifted into yet another gear and in came Ruby Turner and what a voice she has.
In person, as Birmingham as you could ever wish to be, but on stage she has a
voice that will blow your hat off and leave the Americans wondering how on
earth she does it. How many roads must a man walk down? She asked an enthralled
crowd, the opening line of Dylans timeless "Blowing in the
wind", she had got them instantly in the palm of her hand. The band went
wild chasing her superbly improvised jazz version of the classic and just when
you thought she had given them everything, effortlessly she gave more. That was
a moment I shall bookmark for recollection purposes. She made the hairs on the
back of my neck stand up. Wow!" BBC Radio Suffolk

Ruby has been doing numerous live interviews about the new
album over the last few weeks and the airplay is starting to build up all over
the country :
| "Ruby arrived in the
quiet market town of Pocklington on 11 June, and lifted the roof with a
barn-storming performance that had the entire audience on their feet and
dancing. This had to be one of the best live performances ever seen in
Yorkshire not just from Ruby and her band, who are going from strength
to strength, but from any singer. It was simply awesome. Ruby had been singing
with Jools Holland the night before, (at Hampton Court, London), and many
singers wouldve wanted a quiet evening after that, but Ruby gave the
audience 110%, and brought the house down. A power like this cant be
stopped! Some singers peak early in their career, and then slowly fade away,
but the truly great get better and better and thats Ruby! Her
current tour is recruiting hundreds of new
fans
